August 9: Blessed Amadeus was initially not well received by his brothers in the monastery, and bore all the humiliations they gave him. However, he was later renowned for his holiness and miracles.

On June 29th, the Catholic Church commemorates the Feast of Saint Peter, the First Pope, and Saint Paul, the greatest missionary in history.

September 13: John Chrysostom was exiled time and again for speaking the truth which offended the sensitive ears of sinners, but he never stopped telling the truth.

September 17: Saint Robert Bellarmine was given a great mind which he used to defend the Faith, prompting protestant leaders to admit that he defeated their arguments.

September 18: Saint Joseph of Cupertino as a child was abused by his mother; however, he grew up to be a holy man through whom God performed a great many miracles.

December 16: As a noble woman, Saint Adelaide's life was troubled with much political turmoil, but in the end she managed to retire into monastic life.

December 15: The imitation of Christ’s suffering on the Cross was the foundation of Saint Mary di Rosa's life. She served the ill and those suffering in hospitals.

December 13: Saint Lucy made a vow of virginity. However, she was betrothed to a pagan, who had her arrested for her Faith. She was eventually martyred.

December 14: Saint John of the Cross suffered greatly, even being imprisoned by his fellow friars and beaten by a superior. He became a great mystic, writer, and is deemed one of the best poets that ever lived.
